Lying within me

Lying within me is a love waiting to share
And a loneliness at times that is hard to bear

Trying to be happy so much of the time
Sometimes just portrays a false outer shine

You think I am so strong, but that is not completely true
I have weaknesses inside me, just like you

When by myself, I will often look inside and stare
And gaze upon the loneliness that resides there

At times I shift between feeling strong and weak
Always hoping to maintain that happy peak

When I am with you my cares simply fall away
And my heart sends a silent message ‘please stay’.

At the moment the time just doesn’t seem right
But you are still my lovely beautiful shining light

I will keep up my happy smiling face
And open my heart to you, just in case

Life is full of ups and downs
Full of beauty, sight and sounds

You are a beauty who has come into my life
And cast a healing light on my internal strife.
