My name is John Martin and I am a bit of a reluctant poet. These poems have evolved over the last few years and have often seemed to come from another person. Some reflect my thoughts on life as they have come to me and others I have written specifically for family and friends.

Life is not always easy and many of these poems are my views on life and the treasure that lies dormant inside all of us that can help each of us overcome the different degrees of problems that we all face in life.

This website has become a reality through the support and encouragement of many people and is as much theirs as it is mine. Thank you to one and all.

• the ferns for the gentleness of nature
• the fuschia plant for its beauty and special meaning to my family
• the butterflies symbolise rebirth and growth
• the blue and green for the colours of nature
• the stone steps are a symbol of the labyrinth which takes us on a journey to find our inner self then returns us to the world, refreshed.
